Fake News

Are we at war?

Interference in referenda and electoral campaigns. Elected politicians, decisions made based on dubious information. Resolutions approved in Parliaments. Alerts and speeches. Legislative and regulatory changes. Millions of euros invested to combat the phenomenon. More and more supervision, more and more control.

There are those who repeat that we have been at war for two decades. A war, with different battles, against an enemy without a face or nationality. There are those who repeat that we are losing the war.

Is it really like that?

Rumors, lies, manipulations are part of our history. Fake News, in its different natures, is not a new or recent phenomenon, nor is it the result of any technological platform. Fake News was born at the same time as Real News. But has there ever been so much Fake News? Perhaps. But there has never been so much scrutiny either.
